TV Viewers carry the Conversation to Social Networks.

Social media is fundamentally changing the way engaged viewers are watching and talking about their favorite programs. No longer content to watch shows passively, viewers are taking to social networks to get recommendations and share their own opinions on programs, making the digital realm the new host of “watercooler” discussions.

Several months ago in October of 2011 I wrote an op-ed piece titled “I have high hopes for the Association of Hispanic Advertising Agencies”.

 

It was necessary to write last year’s op-ed piece since I felt after working with AHAA for fifteen years, the momentum and directionality of our Industry’s trade-marketing association did not represent the needs or that it was not a compass for our Industry.

Time Warner Cable Sports unveiled launch plans for the company’s two new regional sports networks debuting on October 1, 2012 to serve Southern California-area sports fans. The networks, branded Time Warner Cable SportsNet and Time Warner Cable Deportes, will deliver comprehensive sports information, complementing a year-round schedule of more than 120 live sports events as the new exclusive local homes of the Los Angeles Lakers, LA Galaxy and Los Angeles Sparks.
