A year and a half ago in anticipation of what undoubtedly would become the greatest impact the Hispanic vote would have on any Presidential Election to date, I began the long and tedious process of trying to convince the folks at the presidential candidate’s headquarters that newspaper advertising would make a great vehicle to advertise their message to Hispanics and secure votes. impreMedia announces new management structure at its New York newspapers.

impreMedia Chairman and CEO, John Paton, announced a new management structure at its New York properties: El Diario La Prensa and Hoy Nueva York.

El Nuevo Dia Orlando will cease operations.

The largest newspaper in Puerto Rico El Nuevo Dia owned and operated by the Ferré-Rangel family, began publishing five years ago in Orlando Florida as El Nuevo Dia de Orlando.

The entry into the Orlando market mirror the growth of the Hispanic population and continued migration of Puerto Ricans from the island.

Cesar Pizarro, vice president and business manager of El Nuevo Herald announced his retirement.

Cesar began his career with us in 1974, and along the way has served as Director of Circulation for The Miami News, Regional Sales Manager for The Miami Herald/El Nuevo Herald, Director of Display Ad Sales, National Advertising Director, Director of Spanish Language Publications, and Director of Hispanic Market & International Advertising. He was a key player in the launch of El Nuevo Herald in 1987 as well as the decision to market El Nuevo separately from The Miami Herald in 1998.
