Tony Hernández Filmmaker and Founder of the Immigrant Archive Project (IAP) interviewed Eduardo about his life, career and aspirations. ENJOY.

Adios, Eduardo

Mild-mannered and soft-spoken, yet dynamic and purposeful, he evoked the urbane and debonair image of another era — a cubano from days long-gone, a marriage of Savile Row and old Havana elegance.  With Eduardo Caballero gone, an era has indeed disappeared. He had been near the birth of the U. S. Hispanic Market and had helped potentiate its growth with a pioneering spirit and the keen eye of a true visionary.  by Daisy Expósito-Ulla

A Tribute to Eduardo Caballero

The five largest integrated global agency holding companies have now reported their earnings results for 1Q23, and outcomes were positive across the sector, especially considering the difficult comparables. For the quarter, global organic growth on a year-over-year basis for Havas, Interpublic, Omnicom, Publicis and WPP amounted to approximately 4.0% (although by slightly less if Omnicom’s revenue were recorded in a manner that was comparable to the others, as that company only provides gross revenue rather than net revenue organic growth).

When negotiating starting salaries, most U.S. women and men don’t ask for higher pay

The gender pay gap in the United States is sometimes linked to differences in the way women and men approach negotiating their pay. Most U.S. workers who are not self-employed say they did not ask for higher pay than what was initially offered the last time they were hired for a job, according to a new Pew Research Center survey. But men are slightly more likely than women (32% vs. 28%) to say they did ask for higher pay than what was offered.

Be Kind, Rewind

Way back when life was simple, we merely needed to remember to return the VHS rentals on time and, of course, to “be kind and rewind.” The video store new-release wall was our news source for the latest content, and you could buy some artificial butter-flavored microwave popcorn at the checkout counter. Movie release windows were also rather straightforward, so we could expect to find a movie at the video store six months after its theatrical release.

What is design thinking?

Design and conquer: in years past, the word “design” might have conjured images of expensive handbags or glossy coffee table books. Now, your mind might go straight to business. Design and design thinking are buzzing in the business community more than ever. Until now, design has focused largely on how something looks; these days, it’s a dynamic idea used to describe how organizations can adjust their problem-solving approaches to respond to rapidly changing environments—and create maximum impact and shareholder value. Design is a journey and a destination. Design thinking is a core way of starting the journey and arriving at the right destination at the right time.
