U.S. Hispanic Initiative ‘Es tu Cancha’.

NBA en Español, the National Basketball Association’s U.S. Hispanic initiative, and VERB ponte las pilas, the campaign by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) focused on promoting physical activity among Latino children aged 9-13, announced the launch of “Es Tu Cancha (It’s Your Court)” — a community outreach program that focuses on refurbishing basketball courts in Hispanic neighborhoods across the country.

Sears Revs Up Latina Fall Fashion Collection.

Latinas are some of the most fashion-focused Americans spending more of their household income on apparel than other groups, according to a recent Mediamark Research Inc. survey. This fall, Sears, Roebuck and Co. is reaching out to Hispanics nationwide with new fall looks and new brands including Azucar Bella, Bernard, Russell Kemp and Curve for women, and Structure for men, in addition to Sears’ proprietary apparel collections Apostrophe, Covington, Lands’ End and First Issue.
