Do attitudes towards Latino culture change depending on the language preference of Hispanics? This is a question that has importance to marketers and service providers. If cultural attitudes differ for those who prefer to speak English and those who prefer to speak Spanish then one can conclude that language preference is also an indicator of how close one is to one’s own culture. If on the contrary, cultural attitudes do not differ or differ to a small extent between English and Spanish preferred Latinos, then one can conclude that the overall Latino culture persists regardless of current language preference. The percentage of Americans who say they are in the lower-middle or lower class has risen from a quarter of the adult population to about a third in the past four years, according to a national survey of 2,508 adults by the Pew Research Center.

Total advertising expenditures in the second quarter of 2012 increased 0.9 percent from a year ago and finished the period at $34.4 billion, according to data released today by Kantar Media, the leading provider of strategic advertising and marketing information. Total spending for the first six months of the year grew 1.9 percent to $67.1 billion.
